Bukhari 5739

Both of them (Bukhari and Muslim) transmitted the hadith of Zubaydi, from Zuhri, from Urwa, from Zaynab, from Umm Salama, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, saw a slave girl in her house who had a discoloration on her face, and said, "Seek ruqyah for her, for she has been afflicted by the evil eye," from the narration of Ibn Harb from Zubaydi. He said, Abdullah bin Salim followed him in narrating it. Aqeel narrated it from Zuhri, from Urwa, as a mursal narration, and Yahya bin Saeed narrated it from Sulayman bin Yasar, from Urwa, as a mursal narration. This is what Malik, Thaqafi, Yaala, Yazid, and others said. Abu Muawiya narrated it with a connected chain, but this is not sahih. Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq said, from Zuhri, from Saeed, but he accomplished nothing with this.

The Hafiz, may Allah have mercy on him, said in the introduction to Fath al-Bari, page 377, printing TS, after Daraqutni's statement, "Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq said, on the authority of Zuhri, from Saeed, but he accomplished nothing."The Hafiz said, I say, he is daif. As for the narration of Aqeel, Daraqutni pointed to it, but its transmitter from him is not a hafiz. The hadith of Zubaydi, however, was transmitted from him by two trustworthy narrators, so it is the one relied upon. End of quote.
