Umm Qays bint Muhsin al-Asadiyyah, of Asad Khuzaymah, who was among the first women to emigrate and pledge allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ and the sister of Ukkashah, reported that she once brought a son of hers to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after she had treated him for a throat ailment by pressing his uvula with her finger.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Why do you afflict your children by pressing their throats in this manner? You should use this Indian wood, for it contains seven cures, among them a remedy for pleurisy."He meant kust, which is Indian wood.Yunus and Ishaq bin Rashid related from Zuhri the wording, "she had applied it to him."
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري قال
أن أم قيس بنت محصن الأسدية أسد خزيمة وكانت من المهاجرات الأول اللاتي بايعن النبي ﷺ وهي أخت عكاشة أخبرته أنها أتت رسول الله ﷺ بابن لها قد أعلقت عليه من العذرة فقال النبي ﷺ على ما تدغرن أولادكن بهذا العلاق عليكم بهذا العود الهندي فإن فيه سبعة أشفية منها ذات الجنب يريد الكست وهو العود الهندي وقال يونس وإسحاق بن راشد عن الزهري علقت عليه
