He was asked about the wages of the cupper, and he replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was cupped by Abu Taybah, who he paid two saa of food, and he also spoke to Abu Taybah's masters, who then reduced what they required from him. He said, 'The best remedies you can use are cupping and sea costus.' He also said, 'Do not torment your children by pressing their throats to treat tonsillitis. Use costus instead.'"

أنه سئل عن أجر الحجام فقال احتجم رسول الله ﷺ حجمه أبو طيبة وأعطاه صاعين من طعام وكلم مواليه فخففوا عنه وقال إن أمثل ما تداويتم به الحجامة والقسط البحري وقال لا تعذبوا صبيانكم بالغمز من العذرة وعليكم بالقسط
