Ayesha said, "Oh, my head!"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If that happened while I was still alive, I would seek forgiveness for you and pray for you."Ayesha said, "Oh, what a loss! By Allah, I think you wish for my death, and if that were to happen, you would spend the end of that very day as a bridegroom with one of your other wives."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Rather, it is I who should say, 'Oh, my head!' I had thought, or intended, to send for Abu Bakr and his son and entrust the matter to him, lest some claimants should make a claim or some hopefuls express a wish. Then I said to myself, Allah will refuse and the believers will prevent it, or Allah will prevent it and the believers will refuse."
حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى أبو زكرياء أخبرنا سليمان بن بلال عن يحيى بن سعيد قال
قالت عائشة وا رأساه فقال رسول الله ﷺ ذاك لو كان وأنا حي فأستغفر لك وأدعو لك فقالت عائشة وا ثكلياه والله إني لأظنك تحب موتي ولو كان ذاك لظللت آخر يومك معرسا ببعض أزواجك فقال النبي ﷺ بل أنا وا رأساه لقد هممت أو أردت أن أرسل إلى أبي بكر وابنه وأعهد أن يقول القائلون أو يتمنى المتمنون ثم قلت يأبى الله ويدفع المؤمنون أو يدفع الله ويأبى المؤمنون
