I fell gravely ill in Mecca, so the Prophet ﷺ came to visit me. I said, "Prophet of Allah, I am leaving behind wealth, and I have only one daughter to inherit from me. Shall I bequeath two-thirds of my wealth and leave one-third?"He replied, "No."I said, "Then shall I bequeath half and leave half?"He replied, "No."I said, "Then shall I bequeath one-third and leave her two-thirds?"He said, "One-third, and even one-third is much."Then he placed his hand on my forehead, wiped his hand over my face and my belly, and said, "O Allah, heal Saad and complete his migration for him."I have continued to feel the coolness of his hand upon my liver, as it seems to me, until this very moment.
حدثنا المكي بن إبراهيم أخبرنا الجعيد
تشكيت بمكة شكوا شديدا فجاءني النبي ﷺ يعودني فقلت يا نبي الله إني أترك مالا وإني لم أترك إلا ابنة واحدة فأوصي بثلثي مالي وأترك الثلث فقال لا قلت فأوصي بالنصف وأترك النصف قال لا قلت فأوصي بالثلث وأترك لها الثلثين قال الثلث والثلث كثير ثم وضع يده على جبهته ثم مسح يده على وجهي وبطني ثم قال اللهم اشف سعدا وأتمم له هجرته فما زلت أجد برده على كبدي فيما يخال إلي حتى الساعة
