Ibn Abu Layla reported,

Hudhayfah was in Madain when he asked for water to drink. A local chieftain brought him a silver cup, and he threw it back at him. He said, "I only threw it at him because I had forbidden him from this and he did not stop. The Prophet ﷺ forbade us from silk and brocade, and from drinking out of vessels of gold and silver, and he said, 'They are for them in this world, and they are for you in the Hereafter.'"
