Abu Ubayd reported,

Then I attended the Eid prayer with Uthman bin Affan, and it fell on a Friday. He prayed before delivering the sermon, then he gave the sermon and said, "People, this is a day on which two Eids have come together for you. Whoever among the people of the outlying areas wishes to wait for the Friday prayer, let him wait, and whoever wishes to return home, I have given him permission to do so."
