The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the meat of domestic donkeys.He replied, "Hakam bin Amr al-Ghifari used to say that here among us in Basra, but the ocean of knowledge, Ibn Abbas, refused to accept it, and he recited, 'Say, I do not find within what has been revealed to me anything forbidden'" [Anam 6:145].
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله حدثنا سفيان قال عمرو قلت
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن حمر الأهلية فقال قد كان يقول ذاك الحكم بن عمرو الغفاري عندنا بالبصرة ولكن أبى ذاك البحر ابن عباس وقرأ {قل لا أجد فيما أوحي إلي محرما}
