Someone said, "Messenger of Allah, we have no knives."He replied, "Whatever causes the blood to flow, and over which the name of Allah has been mentioned, you may eat from it, except for the tooth and the nail. As for the nail, it is the knife of the Abyssinians, and as for the tooth, it is a bone."A camel then bolted, and they were unable to catch it. He said, "These camels can be as wild and untamed as wild beasts, so whichever of them gets away from you, do to it as you have done with this one."
حدثنا عبدان قال أخبرني أبي عن شعبة عن سعيد بن مسروق
يا رسول الله ليس لنا مدى فقال ما أنهر الدم وذكر اسم الله فكل ليس الظفر والسن أما الظفر فمدى الحبشة وأما السن فعظم وند بعير فحبسه فقال إن لهذه الإبل أوابد كأوابد الوحش فما غلبكم منها فاصنعوا به هكذا
