I said, "Prophet of Allah, we live in a land where People of the Book reside. May we eat from their vessels? It is also a land of game, and I hunt with my bow, with my untrained dog, and with my trained dog. What is permissible for me?"He replied, "As for what you mentioned about the People of the Book, if you can find other vessels, do not eat from theirs. But if you cannot find others, then wash them and eat from them. Whatever you hunt with your bow, having mentioned the name of Allah over it, you may eat. Whatever you hunt with your trained dog, having mentioned the name of Allah, you may eat. And whatever you hunt with your untrained dog, if you reach it in time to slaughter it properly, you may eat."
