The Prophet ﷺ used to pray the afternoon prayer while the sun was still shining into my chamber, before the shadow had appeared.Malik, Yahya bin Saeed, Shuayb, and Ibn Abu Hafsa reported it as, "while the sun was still there, before it had risen above."
