He was asked about performing ablution after eating food touched by fire, and he replied, "No. During the time of the Prophet ﷺ, we rarely found such food. When we did find it, we had no napkins except our palms, forearms, and feet. We would then pray without performing ablution."
حدثنا إبراهيم بن المنذر قال حدثني محمد بن فليح قال حدثني أبي عن سعيد بن الحارث
أنه سأله عن الوضوء مما مست النار فقال لا قد كنا زمان النبي ﷺ لا نجد مثل ذلك من الطعام إلا قليلا فإذا نحن وجدناه لم يكن لنا مناديل إلا أكفنا وسواعدنا وأقدامنا ثم نصلي ولا نتوضأ
