There was a Jew in Madinah who used to advance me loans against my dates until the harvest. Jabir owned the land on the road to Rumah. That year I sat idle and the land yielded nothing. When harvest time came the Jew came to me, and I had gotten nothing from it, so I kept asking him to wait until the following year, but he refused. The Prophet ﷺ was told about this, and he said to his companions, "Let us go and ask the Jew to grant Jabir more time."They came to me in my palm grove, and the Prophet ﷺ began speaking to the Jew, who kept saying, "Abu Qasim, I will not grant him any delay."When the Prophet ﷺ saw this, he got up and walked about among the palms, then came back to him and spoke to him again, but the man still refused. So I got up and brought a small quantity of fresh dates and set them before the Prophet ﷺ, and he ate. Then he asked, "Where is your shelter, Jabir?"I told him where it was, and he said, "Spread out a bed for me in it."I spread it out, and he went in and slept. Then he woke, and I brought him another handful of dates and he ate some of them. Then he rose and spoke to the Jew, who again refused him. So he walked a second time among the palms with their fresh dates, and then he said, "Jabir, harvest the dates and pay him off."He stood by while the harvesting went on, and I harvested enough from it to pay the debt, and there was still a surplus left over. I went out until I reached the Prophet ﷺ and gave him the good news, and he said, "I bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah."The words urush and arish mean a structure. Ibn Abbas said that "trellised" [Anam 6:141] refers to whatever is trained on trellises, such as grapevines and the like. It is said that uruushuha means its buildings.

كان بالمدينة يهودي وكان يسلفني في تمري إلى الجداد وكانت لجابر الأرض التي بطريق رومة فجلست فخلا عاما فجاءني اليهودي عند الجداد ولم أجد منها شيئا فجعلت أستنظره إلى قابل فيأبى فأخبر بذلك النبي ﷺ فقال لأصحابه امشوا نستنظر لجابر من اليهودي فجاءوني في نخلي فجعل النبي ﷺ يكلم اليهودي فيقول أبا القاسم لا أنظره فلما رأى النبي ﷺ قام فطاف في النخل ثم جاءه فكلمه فأبى فقمت فجئت بقليل رطب فوضعته بين يدي النبي ﷺ فأكل ثم قال أين عريشك يا جابر فأخبرته فقال افرش لي فيه ففرشته فدخل فرقد ثم استيقظ فجئته بقبضة أخرى فأكل منها ثم قام فكلم اليهودي فأبى عليه فقام في الرطاب في النخل الثانية ثم قال يا جابر جد واقض فوقف في الجداد فجددت منها ما قضيته وفضل منه فخرجت حتى جئت النبي ﷺ فبشرته فقال أشهد أني رسول الله عروش وعريش بناء وقال ابن عباس {معروشات} ما يعرش من الكروم وغير ذلك يقال عروشها أبنيتها
