Abu Talha said to Umm Sulaym, "I heard the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sounding weak, and I could detect hunger in it. Do you have anything to eat?"So she brought out some barley loaves, then took out a head-covering of hers, wrapped the bread in part of it, tucked it under my garment, and draped the rest of it around me. Then she sent me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.He said, I went off with it and found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque with people around him. I stood before them.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Did Abu Talha send you?"I said, "Yes."He asked, "With food?"I said, "Yes."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to those with him, "Get up." So he set out, and I went ahead of them until I came to Abu Talha.Abu Talha said, "Umm Sulaym, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has come with the people, and we do not have enough food to feed them."She said, "Allah and His Messenger know best."So Abu Talha set out and met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Abu Talha came back with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they both entered.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bring what you have, Umm Sulaym." She brought that bread, and he ordered it to be crumbled. Umm Sulaym squeezed out a small skin of butter she had and used it as seasoning. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said over it whatever Allah willed him to say.Then he said, "Admit ten." They were admitted, and they ate until they were full, then went out.Then he said, "Admit ten." They were admitted, and they ate until they were full, then went out.Then he said, "Admit ten." They were admitted, and they ate until they were full, then went out.Then ten more were admitted, and the entire group ate and were satisfied. The group numbered eighty men.
حدثنا إسماعيل قال حدثني مالك عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة أنه سمع
قال أبو طلحة لأم سليم لقد سمعت صوت رسول الله ﷺ ضعيفا أعرف فيه الجوع فهل عندك من شيء فأخرجت أقراصا من شعير ثم أخرجت خمارا لها فلفت الخبز ببعضه ثم دسته تحت ثوبي وردتني ببعضه ثم أرسلتني إلى رسول الله ﷺ قال فذهبت به فوجدت رسول الله ﷺ في المسجد ومعه الناس فقمت عليهم فقال لي رسول الله ﷺ أرسلك أبو طلحة فقلت نعم قال بطعام قال فقلت نعم فقال رسول الله ﷺ لمن معه قوموا فانطلق وانطلقت بين أيديهم حتى جئت أبا طلحة فقال أبو طلحة يا أم سليم قد جاء رسول الله ﷺ بالناس وليس عندنا من الطعام ما نطعمهم فقالت الله ورسوله أعلم قال فانطلق أبو طلحة حتى لقي رسول الله ﷺ فأقبل أبو طلحة ورسول الله ﷺ حتى دخلا فقال رسول الله ﷺ هلمي يا أم سليم ما عندك فأتت بذلك الخبز فأمر به ففت وعصرت أم سليم عكة لها فأدمته ثم قال فيه رسول الله ﷺ ما شاء الله أن يقول ثم قال ائذن لعشرة فأذن لهم فأكلوا حتى شبعوا ثم خرجوا ثم قال ائذن لعشرة فأذن لهم فأكلوا حتى شبعوا ثم خرجوا ثم قال ائذن لعشرة فأذن لهم فأكلوا حتى شبعوا ثم خرجوا ثم أذن لعشرة فأكل القوم كلهم وشبعوا والقوم ثمانون رجلا
