Umm Atiya reported,

We were forbidden to mourn for a deceased person more than three days, except for a husband, for whom the period was four months and ten days. During that time we were not to apply kohl, wear perfume, or put on dyed clothing, except for a garment of asb cloth. We were granted a concession at the time of purification, that when one of us bathed after her menstrual period, she could use a small amount of qust and azfar. And we were forbidden to follow funeral processions.
