The case of mutual cursing between spouses was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Asim bin Adi made a statement about it, then left. A man from his tribe came to him and reported that he had found another man with his wife.Asim said, "I have only been tested with this matter because of what I said."He took the man to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the man informed him of the state in which he had found his wife. This man was pale, slight in build, and had straight hair, while the man he had found with his wife was dark-skinned, full-bodied, fleshy, with tightly curled hair.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, make it clear."She gave birth to a child resembling the man whom her husband said he had found with her, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carried out the mutual cursing between them.A man in the gathering said to Ibn Abbas, "Is she the one about whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Had I stoned anyone without proof, I would have stoned this one'?"Ibn Abbas replied, "No, that was a different woman, one who openly displayed immorality while professing Islam."
حدثنا إسماعيل قال حدثني سليمان بن بلال عن يحيى بن سعيد قال أخبرني عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن القاسم بن محمد
ذكر المتلاعنان عند رسول الله ﷺ فقال عاصم بن عدي في ذلك قولا ثم انصرف فأتاه رجل من قومه فذكر له أنه وجد مع امرأته رجلا فقال عاصم ما ابتليت بهذا الأمر إلا لقولي فذهب به إلى رسول الله ﷺ فأخبره بالذي وجد عليه امرأته وكان ذلك الرجل مصفرا قليل اللحم سبط الشعر وكان الذي وجد عند أهله آدم خدلا كثير اللحم جعدا قططا فقال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم بين فوضعت شبيها بالرجل الذي ذكر زوجها أنه وجد عندها فلاعن رسول الله ﷺ بينهما فقال رجل لابن عباس في المجلس هي التي قال رسول الله ﷺ لو رجمت أحدا بغير بينة لرجمت هذه فقال ابن عباس لا تلك امرأة كانت تظهر السوء في الإسلام
