Her father gave her in marriage when she was previously married, and she disliked that. So she came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he annulled the marriage.
Bukhari also related the hadith of Khansa bint Khidam, which we have already recorded.
Al-Hafiz said in the introduction to Fath [Bari], vol. 2, p. 135, discussing the topic, Daraqutni said, Bukhari included the hadith of Khansa bint Khidam al-Ansariyyah, that her father married her off while she was a widow, and she disliked that. The hadith comes through the narration of Malik, from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, from his father, from Abdul-Rahman and Mujammi, the two sons of Yazid bin Jariya, from Khansa, with this wording, and also through the narration of Yazid bin Harun, from Yahya bin Saeed, from Qasim, from Abdul-Rahman and Mujammi, the two sons of Yazid, that they both told him that a man called Khidam married off a daughter of his, in similar wording. Then al-Hafiz said, I say, Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim is more knowledgeable about his father's hadith than others, and he connected the chain fully, while Malik was the most precise among the people of Madinah regarding hadith more than anyone else. Yet despite this, Bukhari included both routes, which shows that he considered the connected chain to be the stronger one, and that is the one relied upon. And Allah knows best. End of quote.Al-Hafiz Daraqutni, may Allah have mercy on him, said at the end of the Kitab al-Ilal, when he was asked about this hadith, he said, It is narrated by Yahya bin Saeed and Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, and there is a difference of opinion regarding both of their narrations. Ali bin Mushir, Yazid bin Harun, Abdul-Ala bin Abdul-Ala, and Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated it from Yahya bin Saeed, from Qasim bin Muhammad, from Abdul-Rahman and Mujammi, the two sons of Yazid bin Jariya.
