Abdul-Rahman bin Awf arrived in Medina, and the Prophet ﷺ established a bond of brotherhood between him and Saad bin Rabi al-Ansari. The Ansari had two wives, and he offered to give Abdul-Rahman half of his family and half of his wealth.Abdul-Rahman replied, "May Allah bless you in your family and your wealth. Just show me the way to the market."He went to the market and made a profit, earning some dried curd and some clarified butter. A few days later, the Prophet ﷺ saw him with traces of yellow perfume on him.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What is this, Abdul-Rahman?"He answered, "I have married an Ansari woman."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How much did you give her as dowry?"He replied, "The weight of a date-stone in gold."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a single sheep."

قدم عبد الرحمن بن عوف فآخى النبي ﷺ بينه وبين سعد بن الربيع الأنصاري وعند الأنصاري امرأتان فعرض عليه أن يناصفه أهله وماله فقال بارك الله لك في أهلك ومالك دلوني على السوق فأتى السوق فربح شيئا من أقط وشيئا من سمن فرآه النبي ﷺ بعد أيام وعليه وضر من صفرة فقال مهيم يا عبد الرحمن فقال تزوجت أنصارية قال فما سقت إليها قال وزن نواة من ذهب قال أولم ولو بشاة
