I was with Abdullah when Uthman met him at Mina and said, "Abu Abdul-Rahman, I have a matter to discuss with you."So they went aside privately, and Uthman said, "Abu Abdul-Rahman, would you like us to marry you to a young virgin who might remind you of the days of your youth?"When Abdullah saw that he had no need for this, he gestured to me and called, "Alqama!"I came over to him as he was saying, "Well, if you say so, the Prophet ﷺ once said to us, 'Young men, whoever among you can afford to marry should do so, and whoever cannot should fast, for it will be a shield for him.'"
