He heard a man reciting a verse differently from how he had heard the Prophet ﷺ recite it, so he took him by the hand and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Both of you are doing well, so continue reciting." As far as I know, he said, "Those before you differed, and so they were destroyed."
