The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Between the two blasts of the trumpet there are forty."Someone asked, "Forty days?"Abu Hurayrah replied, "I decline to say."The questioner asked, "Forty months?"He replied, "I decline to say."The questioner asked, "Forty years?"He replied, "I decline to say."The Prophet ﷺ continued, "Then Allah will send down water from the sky, and they will sprout forth as vegetation sprouts. There is nothing of a human being that does not decay except for one bone, which is the coccyx, and from it the creation will be reassembled on the Day of Resurrection."
حدثني محمد أخبرنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما بين النفختين أربعون قال أربعون يوما قال أبيت قال أربعون شهرا قال أبيت قال أربعون سنة قال أبيت قال ثم ينزل الله من السماء ماء فينبتون كما ينبت البقل ليس من الإنسان شيء إلا يبلى إلا عظما واحدا وهو عجب الذنب ومنه يركب الخلق يوم القيامة
