Abdullah bin Masud reported,

We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Surah al-Mursalat was revealed to him, and we were learning it directly from his lips when a snake came out. We rushed to kill it, but it escaped us and slipped into its hole. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It has been spared your harm just as you have been spared its harm."
