We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he said, "Will you pledge allegiance to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, that you will not commit adultery, and that you will not steal?" Then he recited the verse of an-Nisa, and most often Sufyan said, "He recited the verse.""Whoever among you fulfills this, his reward is with Allah. Whoever commits any of these and is punished for it, that punishment is an expiation for him. And whoever commits any of these and Allah conceals it, his affair is with Allah. If He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him."Abdul-Razzaq followed him in this narration from Muamar regarding the verse.
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله حدثنا سفيان قال الزهري حدثناه قال حدثني أبو إدريس سمع
كنا عند النبي ﷺ فقال أتبايعوني على أن لا تشركوا بالله شيئا ولا تزنوا ولا تسرقوا وقرأ آية النساء وأكثر لفظ سفيان قرأ الآية فمن وفى منكم فأجره على الله ومن أصاب من ذلك شيئا فعوقب فهو كفارة له ومن أصاب منها شيئا من ذلك فستره الله فهو إلى الله إن شاء عذبه وإن شاء غفر له تابعه عبد الرزاق عن معمر في الآية
