Allah sent Muhammad ﷺ and said, "Say, 'I do not ask you for any payment for it, nor am I of the pretenders.'" [Sad 38:86]. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that the Quraysh had become defiant against him, he said, "Allah, help me against them with seven years like the seven years of Yusuf." So a famine seized them which consumed everything, until they ate bones and hides.One of the narrators said, "Until they ate hides and carrion."And something resembling smoke began to rise from the ground. Abu Sufyan came to him and said, "Muhammad, your people are perishing, so pray to Allah to relieve them." He prayed, then said, "You will return to your old ways after this."In Mansur's version, he then recited, "So watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke... indeed, you would return." [Dukhan 44:10–15]. Would the punishment of the Hereafter be lifted from them? The smoke, the mighty seizure, and the binding torment have already come to pass.One of them said, "And the moon."Another said, "And the Romans."
حدثنا بشر بن خالد أخبرنا محمد حدثنا شعبة عن سليمان ومنصور عن أبي الضحى عن مسروق قال قال
إن الله بعث محمدا ﷺ وقال {قل ما أسألكم عليه من أجر وما أنا من المتكلفين} فإن رسول الله ﷺ لما رأى قريشا استعصوا عليه فقال اللهم أعني عليهم بسبع كسبع يوسف فأخذتهم السنة حتى حصت كل شيء حتى أكلوا العظام والجلود فقال أحدهم حتى أكلوا الجلود والميتة وجعل يخرج من الأرض كهيئة الدخان فأتاه أبو سفيان فقال أي محمد إن قومك قد هلكوا فادع الله أن يكشف عنهم فدعا ثم قال تعودون بعد هذا في حديث منصور ثم قرأ {فارتقب يوم تأتي السماء بدخان مبين إلى عائدون} أنكشف عنهم عذاب الآخرة فقد مضى الدخان والبطشة واللزام وقال أحدهم القمر وقال الآخر والروم
