Sawda went out after the verse of veiling had been revealed, attending to a need of hers. She was a large woman, easily recognized by anyone who knew her. Umar bin Khattab saw her and said, "Sawda, by Allah, you are not hidden from us. So consider carefully how you go out."She turned back at once. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in my house at the time, eating his dinner, with a bone in his hand. She came in and said, "Messenger of Allah, I went out to attend to a need of mine, and Umar said such and such to me."Then Allah revealed something to him, and when the revelation lifted from him, the bone was still in his hand. He had not put it down. He said, "Permission has been granted for you to go out to attend to your needs."
