I used to feel jealous of the women who offered themselves to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I would say, "Does a woman really offer herself?" Then when Allah Almighty revealed "You may defer whom you will of them and take to yourself whom you will, and if you desire any you have set aside, there is no blame upon you" [Ahzab 33:51], I said, "I see that your Lord hastens to fulfill your desires."
