Hassan bin Thabit came in to see Ayesha and recited verses in praise of her,"Chaste and dignified, no suspicion clings to her, she rises hungry, never feeding on the flesh of the heedless."Ayesha said, "But I am not like that."I said, "You allow a man like this to come in to you, when Allah has revealed, 'and he among them who took the greater part in it'" [Nur 24:11]She replied, "And what punishment is harsher than blindness?" Then she added, "He used to defend the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثني محمد بن بشار حدثنا ابن أبي عدي أنبأنا شعبة عن الأعمش عن أبي الضحى
دخل حسان بن ثابت على عائشة فشبب وقال حصان رزان ما تزن بريبة وتصبح غرثى من لحوم الغوافل قالت لست كذاك قلت تدعين مثل هذا يدخل عليك وقد أنزل الله {والذي تولى كبره منهم} فقالت وأي عذاب أشد من العمى وقالت وقد كان يرد عن رسول الله ﷺ
