Ibn Abbas sought permission to visit Ayesha just before her death, while she was overcome by illness. She said, "I fear that he will praise me."It was said to her, "He is the cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and one of the leading Muslims."She said, "Let him in."He asked, "How are you feeling?"She replied, "Well, if I remain mindful of Allah."He said, "Then you are well, Allah willing. You are the wife of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did not marry any virgin other than you, and your innocence was sent down from heaven."Ibn Zubayr entered after him, and she said, "Ibn Abbas came in and praised me, and I wish I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight."
