Abu Darda reported,

There was once a heated exchange between Abu Bakr and Umar, and Abu Bakr angered Umar, so Umar walked away from him in anger. Abu Bakr followed him, asking him to seek forgiveness for him, but Umar refused, even shutting his door in his face. So Abu Bakr came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Darda said, while we were sitting with him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked, "As for this companion of yours, he has rushed ahead in goodness."Meanwhile, Umar regretted what he had done, so he came and greeted them, sat down beside the Prophet ﷺ, and recounted the matter to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Darda said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry, while Abu Bakr kept saying, "By Allah, Messenger of Allah, I was the one more in the wrong."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Will you not leave my companion alone for my sake? Will you not leave my companion alone for my sake? I once said, 'People, I am the Messenger of Allah to you all,' and you said, 'You have lied,' but Abu Bakr said, 'You have spoken the truth.'"Abu Abdullah said, "Ghamara means he raced ahead in goodness."

Chapter
And when Musa came to Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, 'My Lord, show me Yourself that I may look at You.' He said, 'You will not see Me, but look at the mountain. If it remains in its place, then you will see Me.' So when his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He made it crumble and Musa fell unconscious. When he recovered, he said, 'Glory be to You, I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers.'
