On the day of Uhud, the Prophet ﷺ placed Abdullah bin Jubayr in command of the foot soldiers. Some men came back in defeat, and that was when the Messenger was calling out to them from behind. Only twelve men remained with the Prophet ﷺ.
حدثنا عمرو بن خالد حدثنا زهير حدثنا أبو إسحاق قال سمعت
جعل النبي ﷺ على الرجالة يوم أحد عبد الله بن جبير وأقبلوا منهزمين فذاك إذ يدعوهم الرسول في أخراهم ولم يبق مع النبي ﷺ غير اثني عشر رجلا
