Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

He used to recite the verse as "and upon those who are burdened with it but cannot endure it, a ransom of feeding a poor person" [Baqarah 2:184].Ibn Abbas said, "It is not abrogated. It refers to the elderly man and the elderly woman who are unable to fast, so they feed a poor person for each day in place of fasting."
