The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Amr bin As in command of the army of Dhat al-Salasil.Amr said, "I came to him and asked, 'Which of the people do you love most?'"He replied, "Ayesha."I asked, "And among men?"He said, "Her father."I asked, "Then who?"He said, "Umar," and he listed Some men. So I fell silent, fearing he would place me at the end of them.
حدثنا إسحاق أخبرنا خالد بن عبد الله عن خالد الحذاء
أن رسول الله ﷺ بعث عمرو بن العاص على جيش ذات السلاسل قال فأتيته فقلت أي الناس أحب إليك قال عائشة قلت من الرجال قال أبوها قلت ثم من قال عمر فعد رجالا فسكت مخافة أن يجعلني في آخرهم
