The Prophet ﷺ gathered a group of the Ansar and said, "The Quraysh have only recently left behind the era of ignorance and have suffered hardship, and I wished to console them and win their hearts. Are you not pleased that the people return with worldly gains while you return with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to your homes?"They replied, "Yes, of course."He said, "If the people were to travel through one valley and the Ansar through another mountain pass, I would travel through the valley of the Ansar," or "the mountain pass of the Ansar."
حدثني محمد بن بشار حدثنا غندر حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت قتادة
جمع النبي ﷺ ناسا من الأنصار فقال إن قريشا حديث عهد بجاهلية ومصيبة وإني أردت أن أجبرهم وأتألفهم أما ترضون أن يرجع الناس بالدنيا وترجعون برسول الله ﷺ إلى بيوتكم قالوا بلى قال لو سلك الناس واديا وسلكت الأنصار شعبا لسلكت وادي الأنصار أو شعب الأنصار
