On the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed the spoils among the Quraysh, and the Ansar became upset.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you not pleased that the people go away with worldly gains while you go away with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"They replied, "Yes indeed."He said, "If the people were to take one valley or mountain pass, I would take the valley or pass of the Ansar."

لما كان يوم فتح مكة قسم رسول الله ﷺ غنائم بين قريش فغضبت الأنصار قال النبي ﷺ أما ترضون أن يذهب الناس بالدنيا وتذهبون برسول الله ﷺ قالوا بلى قال لو سلك الناس واديا أو شعبا لسلكت وادي الأنصار أو شعبهم
