I wish I could see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the moment revelation comes down upon him.He continued, while the Prophet ﷺ was at al-Jiranah with a garment held up to shade him and a group of his companions with him, an Arabi came to him wearing a long cloak smeared with perfume.The man said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who enters the state of ihram for umrah while wearing a cloak after having smeared himself with perfume?"Umar gestured with his hand to Yala, signaling him to come. Yala came and put his head inside, and there was the Prophet ﷺ with his face flushed red, breathing heavily. He remained like that for a while, then it passed from him.He said, "Where is the man who was asking me about umrah just now?"The man was sought out and brought to him. He said, "As for the perfume on you, wash it off three times. As for the cloak, take it off. Then do in your umrah what you do in your hajj."
حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم حدثنا إسماعيل حدثنا ابن جريج قال أخبرني عطاء أن صفوان بن يعلى بن أمية أخبره أن
ليتني أرى رسول الله ﷺ حين ينزل عليه قال فبينا النبي ﷺ بالجعرانة وعليه ثوب قد أظل به معه فيه ناس من أصحابه إذ جاءه أعرابي عليه جبة متضمخ بطيب فقال يا رسول الله كيف ترى في رجل أحرم بعمرة في جبة بعدما تضمخ بالطيب فأشار عمر إلى يعلى بيده أن تعال فجاء يعلى فأدخل رأسه فإذا النبي ﷺ محمر الوجه يغط كذلك ساعة ثم سري عنه فقال أين الذي يسألني عن العمرة آنفا فالتمس الرجل فأتي به فقال أما الطيب الذي بك فاغسله ثلاث مرات وأما الجبة فانزعها ثم اصنع في عمرتك كما تصنع في حجك
