The Prophet ﷺ set out during Ramadan toward Hunayn, and the people were divided, some fasting and some not. When he settled onto his mount, he called for a vessel of milk or water and placed it on his palm, or on his mount, then looked at the people. Those who had broken their fast said to those still fasting, "Break your fast."
حدثني عياش بن الوليد حدثنا عبد الأعلى حدثنا خالد عن عكرمة
خرج النبي ﷺ في رمضان إلى حنين والناس مختلفون فصائم ومفطر فلما استوى على راحلته دعا بإناء من لبن أو ماء فوضعه على راحته أو على راحلته ثم نظر إلى الناس فقال المفطرون للصوام أفطروا
He also related the hadith of Mamar, from Ayub, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, went out during Ramadan in the year of the conquest, and his companions were some fasting and some not fasting" — the hadith continues.Hammad bin Zayd and Thaqafi related it as a mursal narration from Ayub.
The Hafiz, may Allah have mercy on him, said, on page after Bukhari's statement, "Hammad bin Zayd said, on the authority of Ayub, on the authority of Ikrima, on the authority of Ibn Abbas," this is how it appears in some copies of Abu Dharr, while in most of them Ibn Abbas is not mentioned. Daraqutni and Abu Naeem in his Mustakhraj were definite on this, to the end of his statement, may Allah have mercy on him.
