لقد رأيت الشجرة ثم أتيتها بعد فلم أعرفها
We have cited the hadith of Tariq, from Ibn Musayab from his father, and from Shababa from Shuba from Qatada from Saeed, "We witnessed the Tree," though the scholars of military expeditions deny this, and the hadith of Shababa has not been corroborated.
The Hafiz said in Tahdhib al-Tahdhib, in the biography of Musayab, "Waqidi and Musab Zubayri claimed that he, that is, Musayab, was among those who embraced Islam at the conquest, but they accomplished nothing by this, for it is established in the Sahihayn that he was among those who gave the pledge under the tree."
