The Prophet ﷺ noticed some phlegm on the qiblah wall of the mosque and scraped it off with a pebble. He then forbade a man from spitting in front of himself or to his right, but rather to his left or under his left foot.Zuhri reported, having heard Humayd narrate from Abu Saeed, something similar.
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله قال حدثنا سفيان حدثنا الزهري عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن
أن النبي ﷺ أبصر نخامة في قبلة المسجد فحكها بحصاة ثم نهى أن يبزق الرجل بين يديه أو عن يمينه ولكن عن يساره أو تحت قدمه اليسرى وعن الزهري سمع حميدا عن أبي سعيد نحوه
