Anas bin Malik reported,

On the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Who will go and see what has happened to Abu Jahl?"Ibn Masud went off and found that the two sons of Afra had struck him down until he was on the verge of death. He said, "Are you Abu Jahl?"Ibn Ulayyah said that Sulayman said, "This is exactly how Anas reported it. He said, 'Are you Abu Jahl?'"Abu Jahl replied, "Is there anything greater than a man you have killed?"Sulayman said, or he said, "A man whose own people killed him."Abu Majliz said that Abu Jahl said, "If only someone other than a farmer had killed me."
