Anas bin Malik reported,

Umar bin Khattab said, "I agreed with my Lord in three matters.I said, 'Messenger of Allah, what if we took the standing place of Ibrahim as a place of prayer?' Then the verse was revealed, 'And take the standing place of Ibrahim as a place of prayer' [Baqarah 2:125].Then there was the verse of the veil. I said, 'Messenger of Allah, what if you ordered your wives to wear veils, since both the righteous and the wicked speak to them?' Then the verse of the veil was revealed.The wives of the Prophet ﷺ joined together in jealousy against him, so I said to them, 'Perhaps his Lord, if he divorces you, will give him in exchange wives better than you' [Tahrim 66:5]. Then this verse was revealed."Abu Abdullah said, Ibn Abu Maryam narrated to us, saying, Yahya bin Ayub informed us, saying, Humayd narrated to me, saying, I heard Anas relate this.

عن أنس بن مالك قال

قال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه وافقت ربي في ثلاث فقلت يا رسول الله لو اتخذنا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى فنزلت {واتخذوا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى} وآية الحجاب قلت يا رسول الله لو أمرت نساءك أن يحتجبن فإنه يكلمهن البر والفاجر فنزلت آية الحجاب واجتمع نساء النبي ﷺ في الغيرة عليه فقلت لهن {عسى ربه إن طلقكن أن يبدله أزواجا خيرا منكن} فنزلت هذه الآية قال أبو عبد الله و حدثنا ابن أبي مريم قال أخبرنا يحيى بن أيوب قال حدثني حميد قال سمعت أنسا بهذا
