Urwa bin Zubayr reported,

Zubayr said, "On the day of Badr I encountered Ubayda bin Saeed bin al-As. He was clad in full armor so that nothing of him could be seen except his eyes, and he was known by the nickname Abu Dhat al-Karish. He called out, 'I am Abu Dhat al-Karish.' I charged at him with my spear and struck him in the eye, and he died."Hisham said, "I was told that Zubayr said, 'I placed my foot on him and then strained to pull it out, and it was only with great effort that I was able to extract it. Its two ends had become bent.'"Urwa said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him for that spear, and he gave it to him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, Zubayr took it back. Then Abu Bakr requested it, and he gave it to him. When Abu Bakr passed away, Umar asked him for it, and he gave it to him. When Umar passed away, Zubayr took it back. Then Uthman requested it from him, and he gave it to him. When Uthman was killed, it came into the possession of the family of Ali. Then Abdullah bin Zubayr requested it, and it remained with him until he was killed."
