News of the Prophet's ﷺ emigration reached us while we were in Yemen, so we boarded a ship, and our ship carried us to the Negus in Abyssinia. There we met Jafar bin Abu Talib and stayed with him until we eventually came back. We met the Prophet ﷺ just as he had conquered Khaybar, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "You people of the ship have two emigrations to your credit."

بلغنا مخرج النبي ﷺ ونحن باليمن فركبنا سفينة فألقتنا سفينتنا إلى النجاشي بالحبشة فوافقنا جعفر بن أبي طالب فأقمنا معه حتى قدمنا فوافقنا النبي ﷺ حين افتتح خيبر فقال النبي ﷺ لكم أنتم يا أهل السفينة هجرتان
