Sufyan reported,

I went to ask Zuhri about the hadith of the Makhzumi woman, but he shouted at me.I said to Sufyan, "Then from whom else did you take it?"He replied, "I found it in a book that Ayub bin Musa had written, from Zuhri, from Urwa, from Ayesha , that a woman from Banu Makhzum stole something. The people said, 'Who will speak to the Prophet ﷺ about her?' No one dared to speak to him, so Usama bin Zayd spoke to him. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'When a noble person among the Children of Israil stole, they would let him go, but when a weak person among them stole, they would cut off his hand. By Allah, if Fatimah were to steal, I would cut off her hand.'"

سفيان قال

ذهبت أسأل الزهري عن حديث المخزومية فصاح بي قلت لسفيان فلم تحتمله عن أحد قال وجدته في كتاب كان كتبه أيوب بن موسى عن الزهري عن عروة عن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن امرأة من بني مخزوم سرقت فقالوا من يكلم فيها النبي ﷺ فلم يجترئ أحد أن يكلمه فكلمه أسامة بن زيد فقال إن بني إسرائيل كان إذا سرق فيهم الشريف تركوه وإذا سرق فيهم الضعيف قطعوه لو كانت فاطمة لقطعت يدها
