Bara bin Azib reported,

Abu Bakr bought a saddle from Azib for thirteen dirhams. Abu Bakr said to Azib, "Tell Bara to carry the saddle to my house."Azib replied, "Not until you tell us what you and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did when you left Mecca with the polytheists in pursuit."Abu Bakr said, "We set out from Mecca and traveled all night and through the day until midday came and the sun stood directly overhead. I cast my eyes about looking for some shade where we could take shelter, and I came upon a rock. I went over to it and found a small patch of shade beside it. I leveled the ground, then spread out a place for the Prophet ﷺ there, and said to him, 'Lie down, Prophet of Allah.' So the Prophet ﷺ lay down.Then I went off to look around and see if any pursuers were nearby. I came across a shepherd driving his flock toward that very rock, seeking the same thing we sought. I asked him, 'Whose servant are you, lad?' He named a man from Quraysh, and I recognized the name. I asked, 'Is there any milk in your flock?' He said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Will you milk some for us?' He said, 'Yes.'I told him to take hold of one of his sheep, then to dust off her udder, and then to dust off his hands." Abu Bakr demonstrated by striking one palm against the other. "He milked a small amount of milk for me. I had prepared a waterskin for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a cloth tied over its mouth, and I poured water over the milk until its bottom was cooled. Then I took it to the Prophet ﷺ and arrived just as he had awakened.I said, 'Drink, Messenger of Allah.' So he drank until I was satisfied. Then I said, 'Is it not time to move on, Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'Yes indeed.'So we set out, with the people pursuing us. None of them caught up with us except Suraqa bin Malik bin Jushum on his horse. I said, 'Messenger of Allah, the pursuers have caught up with us.' He replied, 'Do not grieve, for Allah is with us.'"

عن البراء قال

اشترى أبو بكر رضي الله عنه من عازب رحلا بثلاثة عشر درهما فقال أبو بكر لعازب مر البراء فليحمل إلي رحلي فقال عازب لا حتى تحدثنا كيف صنعت أنت ورسول الله ﷺ حين خرجتما من مكة والمشركون يطلبونكم قال ارتحلنا من مكة فأحيينا أو سرينا ليلتنا ويومنا حتى أظهرنا وقام قائم الظهيرة فرميت ببصري هل أرى من ظل فآوي إليه فإذا صخرة أتيتها فنظرت بقية ظل لها فسويته ثم فرشت للنبي ﷺ فيه ثم قلت له اضطجع يا نبي الله فاضطجع النبي ﷺ ثم انطلقت أنظر ما حولي هل أرى من الطلب أحدا فإذا أنا براعي غنم يسوق غنمه إلى الصخرة يريد منها الذي أردنا فسألته فقلت له لمن أنت يا غلام قال لرجل من قريش سماه فعرفته فقلت هل في غنمك من لبن قال نعم قلت فهل أنت حالب لنا قال نعم فأمرته فاعتقل شاة من غنمه ثم أمرته أن ينفض ضرعها من الغبار ثم أمرته أن ينفض كفيه فقال هكذا ضرب إحدى كفيه بالأخرى فحلب لي كثبة من لبن وقد جعلت لرسول الله ﷺ إداوة على فمها خرقة فصببت على اللبن حتى برد أسفله فانطلقت به إلى النبي ﷺ فوافقته قد استيقظ فقلت اشرب يا رسول الله فشرب حتى رضيت ثم قلت قد آن الرحيل يا رسول الله قال بلى فارتحلنا والقوم يطلبوننا فلم يدركنا أحد منهم غير سراقة بن مالك بن جعشم على فرس له فقلت هذا الطلب قد لحقنا يا رسول الله فقال {لا تحزن إن الله معنا}
