The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will find that among the best of people is the one most averse to holding this office, until he is placed in it. People are like ores, the best of them in the days of ignorance are the best of them in Islam."
وتجدون من خير الناس أشدهم كراهية لهذا الأمر حتى يقع فيه والناس معادن خيارهم في الجاهلية خيارهم في الإسلام
