The Prophet ﷺ used to deliver his sermons leaning against a palm trunk. When the pulpit was made for him, he moved to it, and the trunk moaned with longing. So he came to it and passed his hand over it.Abdul-Hameed said, Uthman bin Umar informed us, Muaz bin Ala informed us, from Nafi, this same report. Abu Asim also narrated it from Ibn Abu Rawwad, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, from the Prophet ﷺ.
حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا يحيى بن كثير أبو غسان حدثنا أبو حفص واسمه عمر بن العلاء أخو أبي عمرو بن العلاء قال سمعت نافعا
كان النبي ﷺ يخطب إلى جذع فلما اتخذ المنبر تحول إليه فحن الجذع فأتاه فمسح يده عليه وقال عبد الحميد أخبرنا عثمان بن عمر أخبرنا معاذ بن العلاء عن نافع بهذا ورواه أبو عاصم عن ابن أبي رواد عن نافع عن ابن عمر عن النبي ﷺ
