He said, "I also heard him say, 'A man was approaching death, and when he despaired of living he instructed his family, "When I die, gather a great deal of firewood for me and set it ablaze, and once the fire has consumed my flesh and reached my bones and burned them to cinders, take them and grind them up. Then wait for a windy day and scatter them over the sea." They did as he asked, but Allah gathered him together again and asked him, "Why did you do that?" He replied, "Out of fear of You." So Allah forgave him.'"Uqba bin Amr said, "I too heard him say that, and the man had been a grave robber."
فقال وسمعته يقول إن رجلا حضره الموت فلما يئس من الحياة أوصى أهله إذا أنا مت فاجمعوا لي حطبا كثيرا وأوقدوا فيه نارا حتى إذا أكلت لحمي وخلصت إلى عظمي فامتحشت فخذوها فاطحنوها ثم انظروا يوما راحا فاذروه في اليم ففعلوا فجمعه الله فقال له لم فعلت ذلك قال من خشيتك فغفر الله له قال عقبة بن عمرو وأنا سمعته يقول ذاك وكان نباشا
