The Prophet ﷺ fell ill and said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."Ayesha said, "Abu Bakr is such a man," describing him.He repeated his instruction, and she repeated her objection.He then said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the prayer. You women are like the companions of Yusuf."So Abu Bakr led the prayer during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Husayn reported from Zaidah that he was a tender-hearted man.
