Abu Hurairah reported,

Ibrahim عليه السلام never told an untruth except on three occasions, two of them for the sake of Allah عز وجل, when he said, "I am sick" [Saffat 37:89], and when he said, "Rather, this bigger one of them did it" [Anbiya 21:63].The Prophet ﷺ continued, "One day, while he was traveling with Sarah, he came upon the territory of one of the tyrants, and the tyrant was told, 'There is a man here who has with him one of the most beautiful women in the world.' So he sent for Ibrahim and questioned him about her.He asked, "Who is this woman?"Ibrahim replied, "She is my sister."Then Ibrahim went to Sarah and said, "Sarah, there is no believer on the face of the earth except you and me, and this man asked me about you and I told him you are my sister, so do not contradict me."The tyrant then sent for her, and when she came in to him, he reached out his hand to take hold of her, but his hand was seized. He said, "Pray to Allah for me, and I will not harm you."So she prayed to Allah, and he was released. Then he reached for her a second time, and his hand was seized as before, or worse. He said, "Pray to Allah for me, and I will not harm you."So she prayed, and he was released. Then he called for one of his gatekeepers and said, "You have not brought me a human being. You have brought me nothing but a devil."So he gave her Hajar as a servant, and she returned to Ibrahim while he was standing in prayer. He gestured with his hand, asking, "How did it go?"She answered, "Allah turned the scheming of the disbeliever, or the wicked man, back against his own throat, and he gave me Hajar as a servant."Abu Hurairah said, "That is your mother, children of the water of heaven."
