Umar passed through the mosque while Hassan was reciting poetry, and Umar rebuked him.Hassan said, "I used to recite poetry in this mosque when one better than you was present."Then he turned to Abu Hurairah and said, "I ask you by Allah, did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Answer on my behalf. O Allah, support him with the Holy Spirit'?"Abu Hurairah replied, "Yes."
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله حدثنا سفيان حدثنا الزهري
مر عمر في المسجد وحسان ينشد فقال كنت أنشد فيه وفيه من هو خير منك ثم التفت إلى أبي هريرة فقال أنشدك بالله أسمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول أجب عني اللهم أيده بروح القدس قال نعم
